The installation of oil painting:

When installing oil painting, use electric drill to open a hole. If there is no anchoring screw, you'd better knock in a small timber pile into the hole before striking the nail. Large oil paintings need to add two supporters on the bottom to keep it balanced and please take your time. For oil painting without supporters, it's advised to change sling every three years.

The maintenance of oil painting:

 One of the biggest advantages of oil paintings is they can be stored for a long period. When rolling the oil painting, canvas should be inside and painting outside, then a paper tube rolled outside, after that, wrap the painting with plastic cloth to prevent cracks. If the picture has dust after a long period of time, you can brush off the dust with hairbrush or clean it gently with soft wet cloth. The oil color is not water solvable, you can just weep. If there is lampblack or other materials difficult to clean, you can use a little liquid detergent or soap water to gently clean it and then absorb water with dry cloth. Ordinary oil paintings can be stored for 200- 300 years. But as time goes on, some oil paintings may be full of cracks after decades. With proper maintenance, paintings can be kept for hundreds of years. If you have many collections, you can wrap them with plastic cloth, put them in wooden case to prevent irretrievable injury.
